Well, I was trying to go to the Christmas songs site I mentioned in the post below, but I typed the site in wrong and ended up at another site called Christmas Songs. This time it’s www.christmassongs.org instead of the .net. I’ve never seen this site before, but it’s really great. It does have lyrics like most other Christmas music sites, but even better, they have “playlists”. You can look at traditional, modern, popular, romantic, and funny playlists, which are AWESOME for use with an iPod. I’ve made a custom playlist in iTunes using their traditional Christmas song playlist, and it’s perfect.

Man, I really need to start posting more on this blog!

There’s a lot of really interesting information about the history of Christmas songs, lots of song lyrics and such too. But I think my favorite part is the section with Christmas music trivia. I told John he’s got to make more of those quizzes…and he said he would. So check out his site when you’ve got a moment, and bookmark it to visit again around Christmas!

Stay tuned for more posts soon. I promise!

After my recent post on Christmas decorating, I thought I’d share my favorite place to shop for such things: Santa’s Quarters. Two years ago I bought a 9′ flocked artificial Christmas tree from them along with different colored Christmas ball ornaments. I had always had a real tree and initially wasn’t crazy about the idea of an artificial one, but my husband talked me into it. After we got the tree and set it up I loved it! So much so that I didn’t want to take it down. Now I can’t wait to put it up again this year!

They’ve got every kind of Christmas decoration you can imagine…wreaths, garlands, lights…picks and sprays you can use to decorate your tree, etc, and with way more variety than you’ll find in crafts stores or places like Home Depot or Lowes. So if you’re in need of some new decorations be sure to check them out.

So here’s my first post on Christmas in the news! It’s only the end of September, but as you can see by the stories below, Christmas is already in the news!

Christmas decorations are beginning to show up in stores around the country. It seems that most customers think this is a sign of desperation in the bad economy, and retailers aren’t doing much to dispel those thoughts. Even though I’m starting a Christmas blog in September myself, I must agree that this is a bit early for Christmas decorations to begin appearing in stores! What about Halloween and Thanksgiving!

There’s a new movie trailer out for Disney’s new movie, A Christmas Carol.

Yahoo News is announcing that Lil Wayne’s new rock album will be coming out in time for Christmas, while Google News is announcing that Bob Dylan will be releasing a Christmas album for charity!

I’ll try to keep you all posted with the latest news as we get closer and closer to Christmas, so check back often!
